Stuttering is a challenging speech impediment that can have life-long consequences. Many adults who stutter organise their entire lives around the need to speak – from major decisions such as career paths and relationships, through to seemingly small daily choices such as whether to order a ‘cappuccino’ or ‘tea’.
It can be an exhausting way to live and yet there is still no definitive cure for stuttering.
The good news is that the treatment of young children who stutter can be highly successful.
I have treated stuttering for years from toddlers to adults in my clinic and online through the program I co-authored (Ezy-Speech).
In this podcast recorded for my series Learning Made Easier, I explain stuttering, whether children can “grow out of it”, and when it should be treated to achieve the best results.
